Dermovate Cream

DERMOVATE is a very potent topical corticosteroid designed to relieve inflammation and itching associated with steroid-responsive skin conditions. It is suitable for adults, the elderly, and children over 1 year old, providing fast and effective relief for persistent skin issues.

It works by reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune response in the skin. Clobetasol achieves its effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators such as cytokines and prostaglandins. Its anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties help alleviate symptoms like redness, swelling, and itching in steroid-responsive skin conditions. 

Common conditions treated with DERMOVATE include psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis), recalcitrant dermatoses, lichen planus, and discoid lupus erythematosus. It is also effective for other skin conditions that do not respond to less potent steroids, offering targeted relief when other treatments fall short.

The active ingredient in Dermovate Cream is Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% w/w, along with excipients such as Glyceryl monostearate, Cetostearyl alcohol, Chlorocresol, Sodium citrate, Citric acid, purified water, Arlacel 165, Beeswax substitute 6621, and Propylene glycol.

Instructions for Use

• For external use only.
• Apply a thin layer of Dermovate Cream to the affected area once or twice daily. Gently rub it into the skin.
• Allow adequate time for the cream to be absorbed before applying moisturizers or other products.
• For resistant lesions, the effect can be enhanced by covering the treated area with a plastic film for overnight occlusion, if advised by your doctor.
• Wash hands thoroughly after application.

Do not use Dermovate Cream if you:

• Are allergic to Clobetasol Propionate or any of the listed excipients.
• Have untreated skin infections, rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, or pruritus without inflammation.
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting a doctor.
• Are treating a child under 1 year of age.

Warnings

• Do not exceed 4 weeks of continuous use. If necessary, treatment can be resumed with medical advice.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.
• Prolonged use may cause skin thinning or systemic effects.
• Use with caution on sensitive areas like the face or near the eyes.
• Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, or areas prone to infections.
• Flammable: Avoid contact with flames or smoking due to the paraffin content.
